We take you to the northern side of Europe‘s highest active volcano and show you a completely different side of Etna. The northern flank is certainly less known, but all the more breathtaking for it.
Far away from the tourist crowds, this tour takes us to an altitude of around 2.000 metres. On the way, we pass unique volcanic landscapes and lava flows as well as some Etna villages, which bring with them a wealth of stories and information.
At one of our stops we visit a „lava cave“, equipped with helmet and torch we dive into a world full of legends and myths.
Before we reach the highest point of the northern slope, we take a hike to the extinct craters, from which you can enjoy a magnificent view of the eastern coast of Sicily and the surrounding volcanic landscape.
After the hike, we will take you to an altitude of about 2.000 metres, where you will have the opportunity to take a short break at a snack bar (about 30 minutes). After this break our tour ends and we start the return journey to your accommodation or meeting point. Our multilingual guides will explain everything you need to know about the volcano, the life of the locals and much more throughout the tour. This tour is suitable for all ages.
We also offer the Etna North Jeep Tour as a full-day tour, where we stop at a chalet after reaching an altitude of 2,000 metres and enjoy a lunch of your choice (not included in the price). You can choose between sandwiches or typical Sicilian pasta. After lunch, we drive to the Alcantara gorges. A unique formation of basaltic lava rock through which the River Alcantara flows.
